Books that Inspire

From time to time – I will share books here that I have read and enjoyed.  Some of them are more whimsical, some are more scientific.  I’ve learned or been inspired by these books in one way or another.

1). A Million Miles in a Thousand Years: How I Learned to Live a Better Story

Donald Miller uses stories of his life, and to share some of the depths of how much God loves us.  His insights are humorous and engaging.  He’ll make you think about how you think.

2) Love Does: Discover a Secretly Incredible Life in an Ordinary World

Bob Goff’s whimsical stories of life and love will stay with you for a many years to come.

3) Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy’s Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back

This book is at times terrifying, but an honest look about what a boy remembers about heaven during a time when he was very ill.   “John the Baptist” – is very nice………….. Note the present tense.

4) Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Afterlife

This one is for the skeptics, the non-believers, the ones who insist on science, the professional.   It is a must read.

5) 90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death & Life

The beauty of heaven, the reality of pain, and a minister’s glimpse into how to walk in faith and deal with despair through life’s most horrific tragedies.  This story will inspire your faith and your spirit..

6) The Power of Positive Confrontation: The Skills You Need to Know to Handle Conflicts at Work, at Home and in Life
, by Barbara Patcher – insightful look at dealing with conflict in a positive way.
